Labadie History
Labadie, Inc. was founded by Lloyd Labadie after World War II in the south end of Bay City. Lloyd began a used car operation and was truly one of the pioneers of a successfully run used automobile operation.
Lloyd began his company with a strong commitment to "servicing the customer after the sale", which built a strong reputation in the Bay City market. His success as a customer focused used vehicle dealer allowed him to purchase the Oldsmobile franchise in 1966.
In 1970, Gary Labadie took over the General Manager role and began the New Vehicle department. Gary purchased the dealership from his father and became President in 1978.
Continued success allowed Gary to purchase Mitchell Cadillac in 1979. After further success with both Olds & Cadillac, Gary purchased the GMC Truck franchise in 1987. The addition of trucks to Labadie's product offering has been a critical element to the success of this company
In November of 1995, Labadie, Inc. moved to its present location at 711 S. Euclid. The new state-of-the-art facility has helped the company become one of the largest dealers in the Tri-Cities.
With General Motors phasing out the Oldsmobile line, Labadie had the foresight to purchase a Buick franchise at the end of 2002. This rounds out the selection of quality GM vehicles that Labadie Auto offers for the Tri-City area.
Today, with Marc Labadie at the helm as Vice President, a third generation of the family helps continue the Labadie tradition.
